OHIP covers certain components of the eye exam for Children 19 and under, Seniors 65 and over and Diabetic patients. Certain parts of the eye exam that may be vital for our doctors to properly diagnose and treat you are not covered by OHIP. Please see fees listed below

Fees not covered by OHIP: retinal photography, OCT imaging, corneal topography, emergency care, myopia control care and vision therapy.

Retinal Photography: Photography allows us to take a more in depth look at the structures at the back of the eye and detect diseases earlier. We recommend it every 2 years in children 6+, every 2 years in healthy adults 20-64 years old, and every year in diabetics and seniors.

OCT Imaging: OCT is a form of retinal photography that includes a 3D scan of the optic nerve and macula. This allows us to detect and manage diseases such as diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration and retinal diseases. This is recommended in patients 40-64 every 1-2 years, and in diabetic and senior patients every year.

Corneal Topography: This service is highly recommended for patients who have keratoconus or corneal dystrophy diseases.

Myopia control treatments: Axial length measurements, and management of myopia control treatments such as atropine drops, miyosmart glasses, and specialty contact lenses is not covered by OHIP

You will be dilated at your eye exam, please plan accordingly by bringing a driver if you are not comfortable driving.

Each appointment takes about 30-40 minutes.

Each family member requires their own scheduled appointment. Please book each appointment in the name of the individual who the appointment is for.

New Patients: Comprehensive Eye Exams

Returning Patients: Children's Eye Exams (0-19 years old)

This includes a glasses prescription check, a screening of your binocular vision system, an ocular health exam (may require dilation). Some services include a retinal photo and OCT scan (please see the top of the page for recommendations).


Returning Patients: Adults (20-64 years old)

This includes a glasses prescription check, a screening of your binocular vision system, an ocular health exam (which requires dilating drops ), and retinal imaging.


Returning Patients: Seniors (65+ years old)

This includes a glasses prescription check, a screening of your binocular vision system, an ocular health exam (with dilating drops). Some services include a retinal photo and OCT scan (please see the top of the page for recommendations).

Specialty Services: Myopia Control

Myopia control is a form of treatment to slow down the progression of myopia (near-sightedness). Please select if our doctors recommended this treatment or if you were referred to our clinic for this type of treatment.


Specialty Services: Vision Therapy

Vision therapy or rehabilitation is a non-invasive form of therapy to address strabismus, concussion symptoms, visual disorders impacting learning and non-strabismic binocular vision disorders. This involves an in-depth assessment of your binocular vision system to see if vision therapy would help address your symptoms and concerns.

Dr. Marina Ceaus was born in Romania but grew up in North York, Ontario. She attended York University for her undergraduate degree and received her Doctor of Optometry with honours from the University of Waterloo. In her final year, she did her ocular disease placement at Vision America of Mobile in Alabama, where she received extensive training in diabetic retinopathy, optic nerve disease, strabismus, paediatrics and corneal disease. Dr. Ceaus emphasizes the importance of ocular health to ensure early diagnosis so that we can prevent vision loss. After graduation Dr. Ceaus furthered her training in vision therapy allowing her to provide specialized care to children with vision disorders that may impact their learning, children and adults with strabismus and individuals concussions.

Dr. Ceaus is passionate about eyecare, and more over, passionate about your family’s vision and health. She loves children and is a big advocator of annual children’s eye exams. She is dedicated to work with you and your health care team to ensure that you and your family’s vision is well taken care of. She has experience in the management of diseases such as macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma and diabetes. Dr. Bobby Mundra was born and raised in Toronto. He spent 4 years in Chicago at the Illinois College of Optometry, where he received his Doctor of Optometry with clinical honours. He started clinical practice early in his education and spent the later years at various placements, where he received extensive training in specialized contact lenses, myopia control/orthoK, cornea/advanced dry eye, ocular disease, and pediatrics.

Dr. Mundra stands by the fact that children are the future of tomorrow, and it is our responsibility to take care of them today. He is specifically passionate about early eye exams and myopia control to prevent worsening vision and subsequent eye diseases in growing children. Dr. Mundra understands the lifestyle of his middle-aged peers and is happy to provide services for LASIK/PRK post-ops and specialized dry eye care. He also encourages regular eye exams for seniors to screen and monitor for various diseases associated with systemic health and aging. Dr. Mundra strongly believes everyone deserves to live with the best vision possible. He provides specialized fittings for those who require medically necessary contact lenses such as scleral lenses for keratoconus and failed LASIK cases.

Dr. Mundra always strives to make sure his patients in the Streetsville community feel cared for, as he considers your family his own. Dr. Glenda Thai was born and raised in North York, Ontario. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo and remained there to obtain her Doctor of Optometry, where she graduated with distinction. Her training focused on ocular disease, low vision, and myopia management, including ortho-keratology. She is a strong advocate for early eye examinations and is keen on providing high quality pediatric, infant, and special needs eye exams.

Dr. Thai has had the opportunity to work in optometric practices in Ontario as well as ophthalmology practices in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she solidified her knowledge in the treatment and management of ocular conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and corneal disease. She is a strong proponent for routine eye examinations to not only address your optical needs, but to ensure the early detection of any pathology. As someone who has undergone LASIK eye surgery, Dr. Thai is happy to discuss your candidacy as well as perform post-operative assessments for any refractive surgeries.
